A private context layer for macOS

You type. It remembers.

Typeme remembers the ticket, the thread, and the notes you wrote last week — then finishes the sentence for you. Local, private, plain Markdown.

  • macOS 13+
  • Universal

01 — How it works

One shortcut. Three moves.

The panel opens over whatever you're doing, so you never break the sentence to go find a tool.

  1. 01

    Select

Highlight text in any app, or press ⌥S to grab a region of the screen.

  2. 02

    Press ⌥Space

The panel opens with your last action. Switch with ⌘1 ⌘2 ⌘3.

  3. 03

    Write it back

Copy the result, or press ⌘↵ to replace the original text.

02 — Capture

Take it in, however it arrives.

Text you can select, text you can only see, and things you'd rather say out loud. All three land in the same panel, with the same context.

  • Selection — works anywhere macOS exposes selected text.
  • Screen region — ⌥S, then Apple Vision OCR, entirely on-device.
  • Voice — dictated into the same panel, with the same context.

03 — Memory

It remembers, in files you own.

Every capture becomes a plain Markdown note. Typeme organizes them into your profile, the stories you're working on, and a daily log — then brings the relevant ones back when they matter.

  • profile.md — who you are, your tone, your terminology.
  • stories/ — one file per project, with the background that matters.
  • daily/ — what happened, in order. Always yours to edit.

04 — Actions

Translate, reply, polish. In your voice.

Each action has its own prompt and can use your context. The result streams into the panel, ready to copy or write back.

Translate

Keep the meaning, lose the friction.

¿Puedes revisar el flujo de incorporación?

Can you review the onboarding flow?

Reply

Answer with your tone and your history.

Can you take a look before Friday?

Sure — I'll review it this morning and send notes.

Polish

Turn a rough sentence into the one you meant.

i think we should maybe ship next week?

I think we should ship next week.

05 — Privacy

Nothing leaves this Mac.

Your context, your keys, and your screenshots stay local. Only the prompt you asked for goes to the model provider you chose — plus the optional TypeSafe decision layer, if you turn it on.

06 — AI activity

Every call, on the record.

Typeme keeps a local log of every third-party request: which provider, which model, the parameters you sent, and exactly what came back.

07 — FAQ

Good questions.

The short answers. Everything else is in the app.

Does my text leave my Mac?

Only the prompt you ask for is sent, and only to the model provider you configured. If you enable the optional TypeSafe decision layer, it receives the selected text and a few recent context excerpts. Your context files, API keys, and screenshots stay on your Mac.

Which models can I use?

Anthropic, DeepSeek, OpenAI, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Bring your own API key.

Does it work in every app?

It works wherever macOS lets you select text. For text you can't select, press ⌥S and capture a region of the screen.

What does it cost?

You pay your model provider directly for the requests you make.

What are the requirements?

macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
